SPM has worked with Acquos since 2021 to deliver environmental approvals for its polymer manufacturing business in Campbellfield, Victoria. SPM has been working closely with Acquos to secure necessary approvals from EPA Victoria for their existing plant. This involved developing a thorough understanding of Acquos’ operations, potential environmental risks, and the EPA regulations that are relevant to the operations.
SPM’s key activities included:
- Environmental Audit: Conducting an environmental audit of the facility to identify potential sources of pollution and assess compliance with environmental regulations. This involved reviewing operational processes, waste management practices, and existing pollution control measures.
- Development Licence Application: Preparing and submitting a detailed development licence application to EPA Victoria, demonstrating Acquos’ commitment to environmental management and outlining measures to minimize environmental impacts. This included:
- Wastewater Management: Developing a robust wastewater management plan to ensure the proper treatment and discharge of industrial wastewater, meeting EPA discharge limits.
- Air Quality Management: Assessing and managing air emissions from the polymer manufacturing process, ensuring compliance with air quality standards.
- Noise and Vibration Control: Implementing measures to control noise and vibration levels from the facility to minimize impacts on the surrounding environment.
- Liaison with EPA: Acting as the key point of contact between Acquos and EPA Victoria, facilitating communication and addressing any queries or concerns raised by the regulator.
Through meticulous documentation, technical expertise, and effective communication, SPM successfully assisted Acquos in obtaining the necessary EPA approvals to continue their operations in Campbellfield.
